What You Will Need
For your day trip, you should also have an additional voucher to present along with your Swiss Pass, which you will need to exchange for your tickets at the ticket desk prior to the journey. Your Swiss Pass will cover any journeys up to the actual mountain excursion, please reference the suggested timetable on your travel vouchers. Please note that there should be a voucher for each traveler for this excursion, and it is only valid on the date shown on the voucher.
Please ensure that you bring your passport, Swiss Pass (if purchased with your package), and your Mount Titlis voucher, which was sent separately with the rest of your rail tickets. Ensure you keep your tickets throughout the day as you’ll need to show them before each leg of the journey. With your ticket you can travel flexibly at any time of day, please refer to your travel documents for suggested times.
Engelberg Station
Mount Titlis is located near Engelberg, about 35 km south of Lucerne. Use your Swiss Pass to take the train from Lucerne to Engelberg. The trains run at least once every hour, and the journey takes about 43 minutes. If you did not purchase a Swiss Pass with your package, you’ll need to purchase tickets at the Lucerne station to Engelberg, and at Engelberg station to Lucerne.
When you arrive at Engelberg station, it’s a 10-minute walk to the Titlis gondola at Titlis Valley Station. Fortunately, it’s an easy and flat walk, strolling through the small town. Board the gondola, enjoying the scenic views to Stand, where you’ll change to the Titlis Rotair rotating cable car to Mount Titlis station.
On your journey back down the mountain, get off at Trubsee station – a stop located about halfway between Stand and Engelberg. Stroll around the beautiful lake during summer or enjoy sledding in the winter!
At the Top
At the top, enjoy any of the various activities including the Glacier Cave, Cliff Walk, Glacier Park (summer only), shops, restaurants, and most importantly, the 360-degree incredible views! We also recommend dressing warm. Even in the summer, it can be windy at the top of the mountain about 3,200 meters above sea level!
