Want to see more of Berlin in less time? Railbookers recommends hot footing it to the Berlin Marathon taking place on 28th September - from £429 per person for 2 nights. Now in its 35th year this 42 kilometre race will take runners past the main sights of this vibrant city. Among the blurred highlights of the course will be the magnificent Reichstag, the lively Potsdamer Platz, and of course the iconic Brandenburg Gate.

Last year Railbookers customer and keen runner, Fiona Oakes, took part in the marathon and decided to swap the plane for the train and arrive in Berlin relaxed and ready to run.

Eurostar trains run from London St Pancras International or Ebbsfleet International to Brussels Gare du Midi (Zuid Station). Eurostar runs from London St Pancras International to Brussels in approximately 1 hour 51 minutes. Change at Brussels Gare du Midi for a Thalys train through to Cologne. The journey time is approximately 2 hours 20 minutes. The ICE train departs from Cologne direct to Berlin every hour and the journey takes approximately 4 hours 30 minutes.
Overnight trains are available, we recommend upgrading to a deluxe cabin including beds with sheets and duvet, an ensuite bathroom and a complimentary toiletries pack.
